The Recovery and Resilience Facility program for increasing the energy efficiency of cultural and historical buildings will be launched

Ministry of Culture

On Thursday, February 8, media representatives are invited to an event unveiling the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility program for improving the energy efficiency of cultural and historical buildings.*

The media event will take place at 12:00 p.m. in the Minster Hall of the Great Guild (Amatu iela 6, Old Town).

The Minister of Culture, Agnese Logina; the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economics, Edmunds Valantis; the Head of the European Commission Representation in Latvia, Zane Petre; the Director of the Central Finance and Contracts Agency, Anita Krūmiņa; the Member of the Board of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet, Sandis Voldiņš; and the Member of the Board of SJSC State Real Estate, Jeļena Gavrilova, will present the programme and the measures planned within its framework to improve the energy efficiency of state cultural and historical buildings.

Investments to improve energy efficiency in cultural heritage buildings are essential, given the age and wear and tear of the buildings, reducing energy consumption while respecting the historical value of the buildings, improving their technical condition and increasing the comfort that both employees and visitors will enjoy once the planned work is completed.

It has already been reported that the government has approved European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility financing in the amount of EUR 23,956,000, which will be provided in the form of a grant to improve the energy efficiency of cultural and historical state buildings.
