Ministry of the Interior

From September 10 to 12, 2025, the "Resilient Citizen" conference took place in Rostock, Germany. Representatives from Germany, Latvia, and Estonia informed attendees about measures implemented in their respective countries to foster public safety and resilience.

The conference also featured panel discussions on institutional preparedness for effective crisis communication with the public and the digitalization of crisis communication in urban environments.

The State Fire and Rescue Service was represented at the conference by K. Arbeitere from the Unified Contact Centre, who provided information on the advantages and opportunities offered by the "112 Latvija" app. She also shared her experience in communicating with residents during emergencies using the app.

We are proud to not only present the app to our foreign colleagues but also to share our positive experience with it.

We urge everyone who has not yet downloaded the app to do so, and for those who have, to ensure they have the latest version installed!

The "112 Latvija" app was developed in Latvia thanks to support from the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.

We highly appreciate the EU's support, which has been crucial for the implementation of such a significant project for public safety. This support demonstrates shared values and solidarity, promoting the introduction of modern and effective solutions across Europe.
