With the implementation of media digitization activities supported by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility in the amount of 5.7 million, it is planned to modernize media companies and create a competence center for the development of digital skills of media specialists by June 2026.
Media digitization will provide the public with expanded opportunities to receive up-to-date information more quickly, offering audiences personalized content, unlimited in time and space, accessible from various devices – computers, smartphones, and tablets. Digitization will enable the media to develop technological capabilities and offer new content formats – audio, video, social media, and mobile application content.
Meanwhile, the establishment of a competence center will improve the digital skills of media professionals, enabling them to offer diverse and high-quality content to the public and allowing them to experiment with new content formats. Skills development will improve the analytical and research skills of media professionals, thereby educating the public and protecting them from misinformation in the media.
Applications for funding must be submitted electronically to the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (projekti.cfla.gov.lv) by June 27.
