From 13 to 17 October, the annual Social Entrepreneurship Week will take place, aiming to raise public awareness of social entrepreneurship, provide practical knowledge, and inspire new initiatives.
The week’s motto – “Developing Social Entrepreneurship Together!” – highlights the importance of cooperation in building a sustainable and inclusive business environment.
The central event of the week – the conference “Social Entrepreneurship in Latvia – Growth, Creativity, Cooperation” – will be held on 16 October, bringing together social entrepreneurs, policy-makers, municipal representatives, and experts from Latvia and abroad.
The conference aims to emphasise the role of social enterprises in the national economy, promote public understanding of their contribution, and showcase best practices from Latvia and other countries.
In addition to the conference, an online masterclass titled “Digital Marketing: How to Build Visibility and Attract Clients with Limited Resources” will be held on 14 October at 10:00.
The session will be led by communication strategist Santa Kacuba and business consultant Kristaps Kalniņš.
Participants will receive practical guidance on using digital marketing tools to enhance brand visibility, attract clients, and communicate the social value of their enterprise.
Registration for the masterclass is available by completing an online application form.
Furthermore, an online event for young people – “Why and How to Make Your Business Idea Socially Meaningful?” – will take place on 15 October at 18:00.
Two social enterprises – Veizāna Deju Skola (founder Edmunds Veizāns) and Zvaigznāja Komanda (head Agnese Rozniece) – will share their experience.
Young participants will learn how to turn their ideas into socially responsible projects that generate income while addressing societal challenges.
The event will conclude with a quiz, offering a chance to win valuable prizes from various social enterprises.
Young people aged 15 to 35 are invited to register by filling out an online application form.
All events of Social Entrepreneurship Week will be held online and include sign language interpretation.
Additional information and updates are available on the Ministry of Welfare’s Facebook page.
The events of Social Entrepreneurship Week are organised with the financial support of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) project “Support for Social Entrepreneurship”.
