GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION
The aim of the project is to improve the environment of Old Riga for residents and visitors by carrying out improvement works in the vicinity of Riga Castle in order to preserve the historical heritage and create modern premises for the Latvian National Museum of History (LNMH). The project solves the problem of the rainwater drainage system, the harmful effects of water on the castle walls, and ensures the necessary microclimate in the museum's basement rooms, promoting sustainability.
By the summer of 2026, a working environment that meets modern requirements will be provided for museum employees, water drainage from the castle walls will be improved, and the climate in the basement rooms of the building will be improved by constructing infiltration cassettes in green areas for rainwater drainage at ground level. Domestic sewage pipes will be replaced and the courtyard will be improved.
