On Thursday, November 7, at 11:00, a media event will be held at "Arsenāls" (Old Town, Torņa Street 1 (entrance from the courtyard)), where the Ministry of Culture (MoC) will open the European Regional Development Fund program “Renovation of a unique European cultural heritage to promote its accessibility and develop cultural services.”
The MoC has attracted investments of EUR 36.7 million in this EU funds planning period to preserve, protect and develop unique cultural monuments of national importance located in the territory included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in the historical center of Riga – the exhibition hall “Arsenāls,” the reconstruction of the infrastructure of the Great Guild, Vaļņu Street, Teātra Square and related streets, the Daugava gāte, and the creation of the Latvian National Museum of History (LNMH) expositions in the Riga Castle.
The attracted EU fund investments are planned to promote accessibility to the facilities and expand their innovative use to improve the quality of life of the community and strengthen the local community.
The media event will be attended by Minister of Culture Agnese Lāce, Head of the European Commission Representation in Latvia Zane Petre, Director of the Latvian National Museum of Art Māra Lāce, Director of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra Indra Lūkina, Director of the Latvian National Museum of Art Arnis Radiņš, Riga City Council Chairwoman of the City Development Committee Inese Andersone, Board Member of "State Real Estate" Jeļena Gavrilova, and Director of the Central Finance and Contracting Agency Anita Krūmiņa.
