Personal experience for wheelchair users: accessible train travel

Ministry of Transport

Andris really enjoys traveling on the new VIVI electric trains – he describes them as the most comfortable means of transport. On the train, he feels at home – spacious, comfortable, and calm. He especially appreciates the raised platforms, which make it much easier for wheelchair users to board the train. Although it can sometimes be more complicated at the Riga Central Station, where an elevator and assistant support are needed, overall Andris believes that rail travel has become much more accessible and comfortable than before.
