Strengthening intersectoral cooperation for newcomers integration with EU funds support

Strengthening intersectoral cooperation for newcomers integration with EU funds support

Ministry of the Interior

Today marked the first working meeting of the Social Integration Foundation’s (SIF) One-Stop Agency Intersectoral Cooperation Platform. We are pleased to see such a broad range of representation at one table—representatives from public administration, local governments, the non-governmental sector, academia, and the private sector, as well as third-country nationals themselves.

Why is this important?

Our goal is to strengthen a systemic and coordinated approach to the inclusion of newcomers, while simultaneously identifying problems and advancing solutions at the policy and regulatory levels.

This platform will serve as:

  • A structured dialogue between decision-makers and practitioners.

  • A venue to identify real-world challenges.

  • A foundation for policy improvement and well-founded, evidence-based proposals.

We thank all participants for the open and constructive discussion! In accordance with the delegation from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, the Social Integration Foundation will coordinate these meetings at least once a quarter, strengthening cooperation and a shared movement toward more effective integration solutions.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). The managing authority of the Fund in Latvia is the Ministry of the Interior, and the delegated authority for integration matters is the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.
