Modern Disaster Management Centre commissioned in Talsi with EU Recovery and Resilience Facility support

Ministry of the Interior

A significant milestone in the urban landscape of Talsi and national security infrastructure has been reached—the new Disaster Management Centre building at 21 Rīgas Street has been officially commissioned. This ambitious project was implemented with financial support from the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility, establishing a modern base to strengthen regional security.

Final preparations are currently underway at the new centre. Work is actively progressing to furnish the premises and install modern equipment, ensuring that all building users can perform their duties at a new level of excellence. The centre will house the State Fire and Rescue Service, the State Police, the State Border Guard, the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior, the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, the State Emergency Medical Service.

Thanks to the investment from the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility, the new building is not only energy-efficient but also specifically tailored to the technical requirements of emergency services. By concentrating multiple institutions under one roof, inter-agency coordination and emergency response times will be significantly improved—a direct benefit to every resident.

The relocation of the services to the new premises is expected to be fully completed by April 30 of this year, at which point the centre will be operating at full capacity.
