On May 6 and 7 of this year, the large-scale European Police Congress (European Police Congress) took place in Berlin, Germany. Olga Jansone, Head of the Department of Information and Professional Communication at the State Police College, participated in the event within the framework of the project activity "Development of Professional Competencies of Academic Staff."
The forum's agenda was dominated by current priorities in the field of law enforcement—experts discussed the practical application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the work of law enforcement agencies, as well as synergy between educational institutions, state authorities, and the private sector in the context of modern, complex threats. Furthermore, significant attention was dedicated to interdisciplinary cooperation, data and information exchange, and its secure storage.
Participation in the international congress provided high added value, as the insights gained and European experience will help improve and strengthen the joint cooperation among the State Border Guard, the State Police, and other Latvian law enforcement agencies. This will facilitate a more effective implementation of European Integrated Border Management, particularly within inter-institutional cooperation, joint training, and research processes.
