In Latvia, inter-institutional cooperation and personnel training among law enforcement agencies are being systematically strengthened. An active cooperation network has been successfully established, allowing not only for the strategic improvement of educational processes but also for the practical organization of joint situational simulations and drills.
Joint Training and Exchange of Experience
A prime example of this inter-institutional synergy is the recent participation in the professional qualification development course program, “Control of Cargo Vehicles.” We extend our sincere gratitude to the Customs Management of the State Revenue Service for the invitation to participate in this training, as well as to the implementer of the program—Major Oļegs Jerofejevs, Senior Customs Expert of the Customs Clearance Processes Division's Customs Clearance Processes Section—for his professional contribution and expertise.
Development Plans and Modernization in 2026
Cooperation activities will continue throughout 2026, with plans to organize several more joint drills for law enforcement agencies. Parallel to this, the material and technical base of the State Border Guard College is being purposefully upgraded within the framework of the project. It will be supplemented with modern technical solutions, ensuring an efficient environment for further border security cooperation, as well as the organization of higher-level training and research processes.
About the Project
The activities are implemented within the framework of the State Border Guard College project No. VRK/RPVP/2025/3, “Strengthening the Cooperation and Training Capacity of Border Security Agencies in Latvia for the Effective Implementation of European Integrated Border Management.” The project is implemented with the support of the Border Management and Visa Instrument for the 2021–2027 period, and its managing authority in Latvia is the Ministry of the Interior.
