The EU Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund project “Support Measures for the Reception and Accommodation of Persons in Need of International Protection in Latvia (Phase 1)” has been successfully concluded.
Key results achieved in the project:
Direct support: assistance provided to 2,799 persons – including translation, medical, and psychological care;
Professional growth: in-depth knowledge enhancement for the staff of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs in crisis management and security;
Infrastructure improvements: the accommodation centres for asylum seekers “Mucenieki” and “Liepna” have been refurbished, improving living conditions and security;
Mobility and awareness: passenger minibuses were purchased, and awareness campaigns on security and the field of asylum were implemented.
Funding: a total of 5,614,008 EUR, of which 75% or 4,210,506 EUR is the direct investment from the EU Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
