On September 20, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) took part in the European Mobility Week event “Car-Free Day” in Liepāja with the activity program “Sustainable Mobility Stop”, offering participants a range of educational and engaging activities on the theme of sustainable mobility.

The mascot Asvalters, representing the MoT road safety campaign “Laid kā lielais!”, invited visitors to test their knowledge on road safety, with a special focus on micromobility safety – when cycling or riding an e-scooter or walking. Participants could take a quiz, spin a wheel of fortune with questions on safe micromobility, and win prizes.

At the same time, everyone had the opportunity to learn more about EU-funded projects that improve our daily travel options, making mobility safer and more environmentally friendly.

As part of the event, a survey was also conducted to gather participants’ opinions on the most important measures to improve road safety in Latvia in the near future.
