Latvian national federated cloud

GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION

The creation of a national data processing cloud involves combining the data processing infrastructure of institutions and migrating institutional information systems to the national data processing cloud, which will provide sustainable and effective computing infrastructure services. In addition to system production environments, the data processing cloud will also provide separate environments for system development and testing. System monitoring, data backup, computing capacity reservation, and backup recovery capabilities will also be improved.

Four institutions have been selected for the implementation of the Recovery Fund investment 2.1.2.2.i. "Latvian National Federated Cloud" project: the State Joint Stock Company "Latvian State Radio and Television Centre", the National Library of Latvia, the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior and the Agricultural Data Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture, which will provide computing infrastructure services for information systems with different accessibility requirements, as well as specialized information and communication technology services corresponding to their areas of expertise.

• "Development of cloud computing services for the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior within the framework of the national federated cloud" (project No. 2.1.2.2.i.0/1/24/I/VARAM/002)

• Development of cloud computing services for the Agricultural Data Centre within the framework of the national federated cloud" (project No. 2.1.2.2.i.0/1/24/I/VARAM/003)
