Improvement of Research Infrastructure to Promote Innovation Development in RSU RIS3 Specialization Areas

GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION

The objective of the project is to improve research infrastructure to promote innovation development in the RIS3 specialization areas of Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) by investing in core open-access and service infrastructures.

Implementation period: 01.05.2025 – 30.06.2027

As part of the project, scientific equipment and instruments will be purchased to support the development directions set out in RSU’s development strategy.

The following activities will be carried out:

  1. Development of research infrastructure at the RSU Science Centre’s Institute of Microbiology and Virology (MVI) and Institute of Occupational Safety and Environmental Health (DDVVI), Rātsupītes Street 5, Riga;

  2. Development of research infrastructure at the RSU Science Centre’s Oncology and Molecular Genetics Institute (OMGI), Pilsoņu Street 13, building 13, Riga;

  3. Development of research infrastructure at the Faculty of Pharmacy’s Laboratory of Finished Dosage Forms (GZFL), Konsula Street 21, Riga;

  4. Provision of communication and visual identity requirements.

By 31 December 2029, the project aims to achieve:

  • At least 60 researchers employed in the supported research facilities (FTE);

  • The nominal value of RSU research and innovation equipment amounting to at least EUR 2,446,530;

  • Funding obtained from RSU research and development contracts, intellectual property rights transfer, as well as from international research and development project competitions amounting to at least EUR 9,832,521.
