New facilities of the sports medicine centre having been officially unveiled in a refurbished building at children's hospital on Aug. 8, 2025. Reventive Health checks and doctors' counting for children and young People doing sport are now available in one place, what greatly simplifies the patient's path and your time. At the same time, a New outdoor activity area, or Owl Square, has been unveiled at children's hospital Park, which motivates patients to spend time in the Fresh Air.

 

The sports medical Center at children's hospital has been in operation Since 2018, when it took over the functions of the national sports medical Center. Children and young People with inspired physical exercise from the age of 10 are subject to State-aid in-depth Health checks once a year, while children who engage in specific sports sh as figure viewing, Arts and sports gynastics or sports dance are subject to reventive tests from the age of 8.

 

So far, examinations, test and advice from sports doctors took place in different hospital Bodies, but now Athletes Arrive at the Centre, what is separate from the overall patient flow. This contributes to Epidemiological safety and simplifies the patient's path.

 

At the same time, two infrastructure objects related to physical activity have been discovered in the children's hospital. A new outdoor activity area has been created in the hospital park, named Owl lakh. This is because patients have important physical activity in the fresh air as they recover.

 

The new facilities of the Centre for sports medicine have been renovated within the framework of ERDF project 4.1.1./1/24/I009 "Development of an infrastructure promoting patient orientation and clinical quality within the framework of the SIA “children's clinical University hospital”. The total ERDF funding for this construction project is EUR 748 443.37. The equipment was purchased with financial support from the EU Recovery Fund, with donor support for space design and navigation.

 

Owl Square in children's hospital Park has been established as part of EU Recovery Fund Project 4.1.1.2.i.0/1/22/I/CFLA/006 “Development of Integrated healthcare system of VSIA “children's clinical University hospital”. The total DF funding and donor support for this construction project totals EUR 216 459.11.
