With support from the European Union Funds and the Recovery and Resilience Facility, mobility hubs have been developed at 15 railway stations and stops across Riga, improving travel options for residents and helping them reach their destinations more quickly. These hubs make it easy to transfer from train to other public transport, bicycles, private vehicles, or shared mobility services, making everyday journeys more convenient.
The mobility hubs have been developed at the following railway stations and stops in Riga: Zemitāni, Brasa, Sarkandaugava, Dauderi, Ziemeļblāzma, Vecdaugava, Vecāķi, Mangaļi, Šmerlis, Šķirotava, Gaisma, Turība, Bērnu slimnīca/Bieriņi, Iļģuciems, and Bolderāja.
The mobility hubs feature passenger-friendly infrastructure, including bicycle parking facilities, car parking spaces, and accessibility solutions for people with reduced mobility. These improvements are helping to build a modern, integrated transport system that makes travel more convenient and efficient. At the same time, the role of rail in the public transport network has been strengthened, encouraging more sustainable mobility by providing residents with greater opportunities to choose public transport for their daily travel.
On 25 September 2026, the opening of a mobility hub took place at Zemitāni Station, where visitors had the opportunity to explore the new infrastructure and see how such solutions can improve and simplify everyday travel.
