With the support of the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the new Daugavpils Disaster Management Centre is ready for operation

Ministry of the Interior

On February 7th of this year, the State Provision Agency (the Agency) accepted the newly constructed Disaster Management Centre (DMC) located at 20 Siguldas Street, Daugavpils. The Agency has concluded all the necessary service agreements to maintain the building and to begin its transfer to users.

In the near future, two significant institutions will commence their operations in the premises of the new DMC – a structural unit of the State Fire and Rescue Service, and a structural unit of the Ministry of Interior's Health and Sports Centre. Currently, fitting-out works are taking place in the premises, and the employees of both services plan to relocate and begin their duties by the end of April 2025.

This facility is a significant step in strengthening the civil protection and public safety infrastructure in the region. The new DMC has been established to ensure a more prompt and effective response to emergency situations in the Latgale region, as well as to provide quality services to the public, strengthening the capacity of the internal security system.

The construction works at the Daugavpils site were carried out by the supplier association “KUUM & PC”. The total construction costs amount to €4,564,537.30 including value-added tax. The total area of the building is 1424 square meters.
