With the support of EU funds, international cooperation in the field of cynology has been strengthened through training for the State Police officers

Within the framework of the Internal Security Fund project No. VP/IDF/2024/2 "Strengthening the fight against serious, organized, and cross-border crime and promoting cooperation with involved countries", from October 14 to 18, 2024, the State Police College organized a knowledge exchange and training for K9 specialists. During this event, 30 State Police officers acquired new skills in searching for human remains.

10 foreign experts with 8 service dogs from Estonia, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Germany participated in the training, thus simultaneously strengthening international cooperation in the fields of cynology and criminal police.

The project VP/IDF/2024/2 "Strengthening the fight against serious, organized, and cross-border crime and promoting cooperation with involved countries" is implemented within the framework of the European Union's Internal Security Fund 2021-2027 planning period, with the Ministry of the Interior as the managing authority in Latvia. The project implementation period is 16.07.2024 - 30.06.2026.
