With Interreg support, the State Fire and Rescue Service continues to strengthen public safety knowledge

Ministry of the Interior

In the second half of July, the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) took part in various public education events, three of which were carried out under the MassMovement (LL-00103) project to strengthen public resilience, knowledge, and awareness on how to act in various hazard situations:

  • July 18 at the Krāslava and Līvāni town festivals;

  • July 25 at the Icarus Festival in Priekule.

The high attendance confirmed that visitors possess a strong interest in safety issues—nearly 2,000 people took part in SFRS activities overall! Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and completed the tasks!

To ensure your safety and that of your family in emergency situations, timely preparation is essential. We look forward to seeing you at future events in August, where you will have the opportunity to learn more about proper action during various hazards!

Practical evacuation drills are also planned as part of the project. These drills will train inter-institutional cooperation and test evacuation processes under realistic conditions, ensuring that, if necessary, evacuations are conducted in an organized, timely, and efficient manner.
