On September 25, 2025, the closing event for an activity within the EU co-funded project "Strengthening the capacity of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova in the field of 'green' and 'blue' border control (LatMoldova)", took place at the Cynology Centre of the State Border Guard College.
From June 30 to September 27, 2025, two Moldovan cynologists completed an explosives detection training course at the State Border Guard College. During the course, their service dogs were trained to search for and indicate explosives in vehicles, premises, open areas, and luggage.
Upon the conclusion of this project activity, the cynologists were handed over two trained dogs and the necessary inventory for their maintenance. In parallel, a vehicle designed for transporting cynologists and service dogs in Moldova has been acquired and is currently being refitted; it will be transferred to the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova free of charge.
Project No. ICMPD/2024/MPF-461-001 "Strengthening the capacity of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova in the field of 'green' and 'blue' border control (LatMoldova)" commenced on June 1, 2024, and will conclude on November 30, 2025.
