With EU support, Latvia and international partners have achieved significant success in the fight against organized crime

In an interview with the LV portāls website, the State Police reveals how Latvia, together with international partners, fights against organized crime. During the FIDR project, 72 individuals were detained and more than 8 tons of narcotics were confiscated.

Pēteris Bauska, Head of the Organized Crime Serious and Serial Crime Combating Division of the State Police's Chief Criminal Police Department, emphasizes that it is important not only to confiscate narcotics but also to disrupt the structures of criminal groups. Latvia is of interest to organized crime as a transit country.
