With Erasmus+ support State Police College welcomes French Gendarmerie cadets for the first time

Ministry of the Interior

Significant event at the State Police College – cadets from the French Gendarmerie School in Châteaulin visit for the first time!

This unique visit is taking place within the framework of the Erasmus+ program and marks a new step in the development of international cooperation. Over the course of two weeks, the cadets will participate in a broad and diverse program, during which they will learn about the work of the State Police, daily duties, and the police education system in Latvia.

Colleagues from the Lithuanian Police School have also joined this Erasmus+ visit. The aim of the visit is not only to share experience but also to build closer ties between future law enforcement officers, strengthening mutual understanding and future cooperation.

We express our gratitude to the Embassy of France in Latvia and the Internal Security Attaché for the Baltic States.

The support provided by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program is crucial for implementing such projects, as it makes an invaluable contribution not only to the quality of education but also to the even more effective creation of a united and secure Europe. Such initiatives allow future police officers to learn best international practices and understand the working methods of different countries during their studies, which is a fundamental cornerstone for effective cross-border cooperation and combating crime.
