United for an inclusive society! EU support provides assistance to thousands of newcomers in Latvia

Ministry of the Interior

On December 9, 2025, the Society Integration Foundation (SIF) concluded the first phase of the project "One-Stop Agency for Newcomers in Latvia." The event brought together state and local government employees, researchers, NGOs, and community leaders to reflect on the achievements and outline future challenges in the field of integration.

What have we achieved together since 2023?

  • National Support Network: Established a nationwide support network with 5 regional branches.

  • Digital Resources: Launched the website livelatvia.lv and the learning platform LearnLatvian.

  • Direct Impact: Provided 18,912 consultations to more than 8,662 individuals.

  • Comprehensive Services: Ensured access to translation, legal, and psychological services for adults, children, and families.

  • Proven Success: More than 55% of clients have already successfully integrated—they are working, studying, using the Latvian language, and living independently.

Minister of Culture, Agnese Lāce: “Integration begins when a person feels safe and a sense of belonging. This project has proven that Latvia is capable of creating an environment where this is possible.”

The implementation of the project's second phase is planned from 2026 to 2029, ensuring that the path to belonging becomes even more accessible to everyone who chooses Latvia as their home.

The implementation of the One-Stop Agency services is provided within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund project, managed by the Society Integration Foundation.
