The implementation of measures continues within the EU co-funded project "Creation of the National (Common) Situational Picture (Phase 3)," which will promote improved transparency of the situation on the border of the Republic of Latvia!
A contract has been concluded within the framework of the measure "Improvement and expansion of the video surveillance system of the State Border Guard and the State Border Guard College." As a result, the fundamental infrastructure of the video surveillance systems for the State Border Guard and the State Border Guard College will be fully updated.
The measure "Improvement and expansion of the State Border Guard sensor systems" has been successfully implemented. This will result in an improvement in the response time of the State Border Guard's territorial administration structural units on the external border of the Republic of Latvia.
Leasing of specialized research equipment (portable/mobile solutions for the detection of small, low-flying objects and their operators) was conducted, resulting in State Border Guard officials gaining extended experience in this area.
A contract has been concluded for the leasing of research equipment (unmanned aerial vehicles and specialized gear) to gain extended experience regarding the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in border guarding.
The project implementer is the State Border Guard. The project partner is the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior.
We highly appreciate the significant financial support from the EU for the implementation of this project. This support is vitally important for the State Border Guard to effectively modernize its technological base, ensuring higher security standards and strengthening the protection of the entire EU external border.
