The President of Latvia visits the modern training facilities of the Fire Safety and Civil Protection College, developed with EU co-financing

Ministry of the Interior

Yesterday, the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, visited the Fire Safety and Civil Protection College.

During the visit, the President was briefed on the training process and introduced to the fire safety testing laboratory, followed by a tour of the college's practical training grounds. The Presidential visit serves as significant recognition for the hard work of the college staff and their contribution to public safety; it also provides vital motivation for us to continue evolving and refining our educational programs.

It is essential to highlight that the college's modern infrastructure and technical capabilities did not appear out of thin air. The Fire Safety and Civil Protection College has been purposefully developed thanks to significant funding from European Union funds. This support has enabled the modernization of classrooms, the acquisition of specialized equipment, and the creation of a training ground that meets the highest European standards, making Latvia better prepared for various civil protection challenges.
