The Ministry of Welfare

For the sixth consecutive year, the Social Entrepreneurship Week will take place, this year from 14 to 18 October.
The aim of the week is to raise awareness of social entrepreneurship, its development potential, and to support the growth of social enterprises.
This year’s slogan, “Let’s Develop Social Entrepreneurship Together!”, highlights the importance of collaboration in building a stronger social entrepreneurship ecosystem.

On 15 October at 10:00, an online masterclass titled “Idea Fitness: How to Stay on the Wave of Innovation” will be held, led by Elīna Miķelsone, researcher, entrepreneur, and innovation management expert.
During the session, she will share insights and practical advice on how to develop innovation skills and achieve success.
To participate in the online masterclass, please complete the registration form by 12 October.

On 16 October at 18:00, an online event for young people – “Exploring Social Entrepreneurship Together!” – will take place.
Two representatives of social enterprises will share their experiences:

  • Gustavs Mārtiņš Upmanis, founder and CEO of Visas Iespējas,

  • Aleksandra Vdovenko, project manager at Zvaigznāja komanda.
At the end of the event, participants will be invited to test their knowledge in a quiz on social entrepreneurship.
The top three winners will receive surprise prizes.
High school, vocational school, and college students aged 15 to 24 are invited to register by 12 October.

Social economy has great potential to promote inclusive growth and economic development, and the annual conference is a key event bringing together policy-makers and industry experts.
This year’s conference, “Opportunities and Challenges for the Development of the Social Economy”, will take place on 17 October, offering expert insights on the future perspectives of the social economy.

The Ministry of Welfare invites everyone to follow the Social Entrepreneurship Week events, which will be held online with sign language interpretation.
More information is available on the Ministry of Welfare’s Facebook page.

The Social Entrepreneurship Week events are organised with the support of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) project
