The Internal Security Academy has marked its second anniversary

Ministry of the Interior

Today, we celebrate the second anniversary of the Internal Security Academy. Over the past two years, the Internal Security Academy has achieved significant successes, strengthening national internal security and training new professionals.

Dimitrijs Trofimovs, the State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior and the Chairman of the Strategic Supervisory Board of the Internal Security Academy, congratulates the students, academic staff, partners, and everyone who has contributed to the Internal Security Academy's work.

Dimitrijs Trofimovs states: "Internal security and the development of the internal affairs sector are among the highest priorities for the state, and therefore the sustainable operation of the Internal Security Academy is very important. Within two years, the Internal Security Academy has proven that a consortium of higher education institutions can be an effective, high-quality, and development-oriented cooperation model in the Latvian higher education system. We are proud that 713 students are studying in the Internal Security Academy's six study programs, who care about the safety of Latvia and the entire society. I sincerely thank our partners - the State Police College, the University of Latvia, and Riga Stradins University - for providing high-quality education, as well as everyone who has contributed to the work of the Internal Security Academy".

Currently, the Internal Security Academy implements six study programs: a short-cycle professional higher education study program "Police Work" at the State Police College, a first-cycle higher education program "Police Work" and a second-cycle higher education program "Economic Security" sub-program "Economic Security Protection" at Riga Stradins University, and both first and second-cycle professional higher education programs "Pre-trial Investigation" and the second-cycle higher education program "Public Administration" sub-program "Management of Law Enforcement, Criminal Enforcement, and Rescue Services" at the University of Latvia.

The long-term development of the Internal Security Academy is also evidenced by the implementation of a project launched this year within the framework of the European Union's Internal Security Fund for the period 2021-2027, "Strengthening the State Police's response mobility and counterterrorism capabilities by creating a practical training center."

We continue to strengthen internal security thanks to the support of the European Union!
