Thanks to EU support, a training session for records managers from Latvian representations abroad on visa issues is taking place in Riga

On March 26 and 27, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is hosting a training session on visa issues for the records managers of Latvian diplomatic and consular missions abroad that accept visa applications.

The goal of the training is to provide the records managers involved in visa matters with the necessary knowledge and skills for their work.

During the training, consular records managers will enhance their skills in:

• Accepting and processing visa applications;

• Collecting biometric data;

• Personal data protection;

• Interpersonal communication with people of various nationalities, cultures, and temperaments.

This will ensure more efficient and client-oriented service at Latvian missions abroad.

The training was organized with European Union support through the Financial Instrument for Border Management and Visa Policy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organizes such a training program with EU financial support every two years, when records managers from missions gather in Latvia.
