Safety without borders! Latvia joins pan-European speed control campaign

From April 13 to 19, in the European Union member states, including Latvia, the European Roads Policing Network (ROADPOL) operation “Speed Operation” will be organized, during which, on April 15, a “24-hour Speed Marathon” will take place in all participating countries.

During the operation, the police, in addition to daily traffic control, will pay increased attention to road safety and monitor that road users observe the permitted driving speed.

For several years now, the European Roads Policing Network ROADPOL has, specifically in the spring, drawn increased attention from road users to the fact that exceeding the permitted driving speed poses a danger both to the driver themselves and to the surrounding road users.
