New construction of the Fisherman's Park stage

Renovation works of the Salacgrīva Fisherman's Park Stage have been completed

Ministry of Culture

The work on the implementation of the project “Inclusion of Vidzeme Coastal Cultural and Natural Heritage in the Creation and Development of the Tourism Service – “Exciting Vidzeme”” has been completed.

Starting with the activity of this project “Livonian cultural space, North Vidzeme reserve – Salacgrīva municipality Fishermen's park – Fishermen's park and stage”, the municipality carried out the arrangement of this territory with the funding allocated by the ERDF and its own co-financing. The project consisted of two parts, the first was the replacement of the spectator benches, the second was the reconstruction of the stage itself and its surroundings.

The total cost of the project is 1,082,310.90 euros, of which 811,478.00 is ERDF funding, and 270,832.90 euros is state and municipal funding.

In implementing the plan, the stage has been reconstructed, the spectator seats have been rebuilt. The area in front of the stage has been increased, movable benches have been installed and the surrounding area near the seats and the stage has been landscaped. The designers have found a successful solution to preserve the trees growing nearby, and places with chairs and tables have been installed near them, which would diversify the opportunities for spectators. The stage is visually made of stainless steel plates, which create reflections from the pine trees and nature. Therefore, the stage is light and pleasant, fits into the landscape. On the first floor of the building there are warehouses for the needs of the Fisherman's Park (benches, machinery, equipment) and well-maintained amenities. In turn, the second floor is transformable, with sliding walls and can be used for exhibitions, conferences or artists' dressing rooms, and for athletes' living.

“The Fisherman's Park stage is one of the few where choir singing is possible,” emphasizes the head of the Limbaži municipality, Dagnis Straubergs, “this building has very serious, unique structures, reinforced concrete lintels. In terms of engineering technology, a very interesting construction project - a continuous concreting system with reinforcements and weight balance in relation to structures that are in the ground.”
