Regional Road Between Rude and Valdemārpils Reconstructed

Ministry of Transport

On 4 November, the reconstructed regional road between Rude and Valdemārpils was officially opened in Anuži, Talsi Municipality. The event brought together local residents and project partners to celebrate the completion of one of the most anticipated road infrastructure projects in the region.

The 17 km-long section of regional road P126 had not undergone major reconstruction since it was first asphalted in the late 1960s. The project included a full rebuild of the road, reconstruction of drainage structures, a new bridge over the Roja River, and refurbishment of an existing bridge in Rude.

To improve safety and accessibility, new pedestrian infrastructure and street lighting were installed in Rude and Anuži. The upgraded road will provide safer and more convenient travel for residents, businesses and visitors, while strengthening connectivity across the region.

The reconstruction works were carried out by SC Grupa and co-financed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility. Photos from the opening event are available here: Photo gallery. Photographer Renārs Koris.
