Ministry of the Interior

On July 31, 2025, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the newly opened disaster management center in Madona.

This center was built with funding from the EU Recovery Fund.

The project aims to strengthen the capacity of rescue, response, and disaster management services, particularly by modernizing the infrastructure and technical equipment of the State Fire and Rescue Service.

Safety, efficiency, and quality are all essential for the effective work of our rescue services. For this reason, work is continuing, and there are plans for a total of 32 such disaster management centers across Latvia, with part of them funded by EU financial resources.
