EU funding backs ongoing construction of a modern Cynology Center for service dogs training

Ministry of the Interior

The State Border Guard College continues the implementation of the large-scale project "Construction of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Phases of the State Border Guard College Cynology Center Complex."

As a result of the project, a completely new Cynology Center specialized in the basic training of service dogs will be built. Its goal is to introduce a centralized and development-oriented training system for cynologists of law enforcement agencies and their four-legged assistants. The new complex will ensure the full execution of tasks in line with modern requirements, significantly improve the working environment for staff and the living conditions for service dogs, as well as guarantee the safe and environmentally friendly storage of training materials.

By promoting the development of this infrastructure object, the project will make a significant contribution to the implementation of the European Union's security strategy, while simultaneously protecting fundamental rights and shared European values.

About the Project

The project is being implemented by the State Border Guard College within the framework of the Border Management and Visa Instrument for 2021–2027, the managing authority of which in Latvia is the Ministry of the Interior.
