On Wednesday, May 28, the State Provision Agency (the Agency), in cooperation with the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), will open the Disaster Management Center (DMC) located at Siguldas iela 20, Daugavpils.
The Daugavpils DMC was constructed with funding from the Recovery Fund, which supports strengthening the capacity of rescue, response, and disaster management services, particularly through the modernization of SFRS's infrastructure and material-technical base.
The opening ceremony will be attended by Minister of Interior Rihards Kozlovskis, State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Dimitrijs Trofimovs, Economic Adviser to the European Commission Representation in Latvia Signe Groza, Director of the State Provision Agency Ramona Innusa, as well as heads of institutions and employees who will begin their work in this building, including SFRS, the Ministry of Interior's Health and Sports Center, and the Ministry of Interior's Information Center.
This facility marks a significant step in strengthening civil protection and public safety infrastructure in the region. The new DMC has been established to ensure more operational and effective responses to emergencies in the Latgale region, as well as to provide high-quality services to the public, thereby reinforcing the capacity of the internal security system.
Construction work on the Daugavpils DMC was carried out by the suppliers' association "KUUM & PC". The total construction cost was 4,564,537.30 Euros, including value-added tax. The total area of the building is 1424 square meters.
