On 20 June at 12:00, the new building of the Janis Rozentāls Art School, part of the Art Education Competence Centre (AECC) National High School of Arts, was officially opened at 52a Slokas Street.

"I am delighted that, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Education and Science and the National School of Arts, we have managed to create a space that is perfectly adapted to modern requirements. This is a great way to take care of the long-term development of young talents and their path to the future," said Agnese Lāce, Minister of Culture, at the ceremony marking the building's opening.

As school principal Jānis Dukāts said in his celebratory speech: "This building is not just walls and ceilings, it is a space with potential, an environment in which ideas will be born, boundaries will be challenged, and works will be created. I believe that the environment in which art is created also influences the creative process itself. Therefore, investing in the renovation of this building is not only a practical, but also a symbolic investment in the future of not only Latvia, but also Europe's cultural space."
