AMIF-Supported One-Stop Agency Strengthens Regional Cooperation for Newcomer Integration in Jelgava!
The One-Stop Agency continues to actively enhance its cooperation with Latvian municipalities, strengthening the support system for newcomers in the regions. This initiative and the Agency's daily operations are implemented with significant support from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), which enables the provision of high-quality services to newcomers in Latvia.
On February 25 of this year, the team from the Society Integration Foundation's (SIF) One-Stop Agency visited Jelgava. Practical steps for closer cooperation were discussed during a meeting with Aigars Rublis, Deputy Chairman of the Jelgava City Council for Social Affairs, Health Care, Culture, Education, and Sports, along with city council deputies and representatives from the Zemgale Region Human Resource and Competences Development Center and the Jelgava Social Service.
The primary focus of the visit was more efficient information exchange and the provision of personalized support for individuals who have chosen Jelgava as their home. During the talks, the parties agreed on specific future measures to promote the successful integration of newcomers into the local community. Particular attention was also given to supporting international students, helping them adapt to the urban environment and social processes.
Thanks to AMIF funding, the One-Stop Agency is able to provide the necessary resources and expertise to reduce barriers and foster mutual understanding between newcomers and the local society.
