As of 1 January 2026, the Society Integration Foundation (SIF) "One-Stop Agency for Newcomers in Latvia" (the Agency) continues its operations—serving as a national-level support centre that provides coordinated, timely, and individualized assistance to third-country nationals and beneficiaries of international protection. The Agency’s goal is to facilitate the first steps of individuals in Latvia by providing practical, legal, psychological, and informational support in one place to promote successful integration into Latvian society. The project will be implemented over the next four years, until the end of 2029.
The Agency provides support to persons legally residing in the territory of Latvia who are in the initial stage of integration (up to 5 years after arrival in Latvia)—refugees, persons with alternative status, asylum seekers, and third-country nationals.
As a structural unit of SIF, the Agency has also been officially granted the status of a sustainable national-level coordinating institution, providing high-quality information and support throughout the territory of Latvia. Within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) project, approved at the end of 2025, it is planned to strengthen the work of the Agency's branches in Riga, Daugavpils, and Liepāja, as well as to provide remote and mobile services in the regions, increasing the flexibility and accessibility of services.
The Agency provides:
Consultations on practical integration issues;
Development and implementation of individual socio-economic inclusion plans;
Oral and written translation services;
Psychological support and consultations with a psychologist;
Legal support and consultations with a lawyer.
As of 5 January 2026, in-person consultations are available at the Agency's branches:
Riga – Raiņa bulvāris 15, tel. +371 26959706, e-mail: hello@sif.gov.lv;
Liepāja – Rožu iela 6, tel. +371 22811020, e-mail: sintija.keire@sif.gov.lv;
Daugavpils – Ģimnāzijas iela 11, tel. +371 29557630, e-mail: edita.latkovska@sif.gov.lv.
The work of the branches is based on the principle "from support to belonging," ensuring a personalized approach—from practical orientation to in-depth consultations on employment, education, language learning, and community engagement.
The website www.livelatvia.lv offers up-to-date information on migration issues and practical advice for newcomers, providing useful information on starting a life in Latvia.
The implementation of the One-Stop Agency's services is ensured within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund project implemented by the Society Integration Foundation (Agreement No. PMIF/13.1./2025/1/01). Total funding of 2,440,474.00 EUR has been allocated, consisting of 1,830,355.50 EUR (75%) from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and 610,118.50 EUR (25%) from the Latvian state budget.
We must acknowledge with true pride and gratitude: without the strategic vision and the generous sense of the European Union’s shoulder, a national-level support system of this scale would be unimaginable in Latvia. It is precisely the inexhaustible power of EU funds that allows us to turn a vision into a real, comprehensive assistance network stretching from Riga to the furthest reaches of our regions. This partnership is our greatest advantage and a guarantee that Latvia never stands alone in the face of its challenges. The support of the European Union allows us to transform the field of integration, turning it into a model for modern public administration where every newcomer is welcomed with dignity, professional support, and a clear roadmap toward belonging.
