Farmers to receive BISS advance payments as early as 15 September this year

Ministry of Agriculture

To ensure that farmers have access to support funding for their activities in a timely manner, advance payments under the Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) will start this year as early as 15 September – one month earlier than in previous years. The BISS advance payment will be paid at a rate of 75% to applicants whose farms have completed the necessary compliance checks.

The possibility of starting direct payment advance payments earlier this year and increasing the advance payment to 75% has been made possible in response to rising agricultural production costs, including high fertiliser prices.

This year, the indicative BISS payment rate is approximately EUR 80/ha, meaning that EUR 60/ha will be paid as an advance. In areas with specific conditions, the indicative BISS payment rate is approximately EUR 90/ha, with an advance payment of EUR 67.50/ha.

The Rural Support Service (RSS) will make advance payments progressively to farmers whose farms have completed the necessary compliance checks.
