Experimental Exhibition “The Next Future” at Imanta Cultural Centre

Ministry of Culture

From 10 October to 29 November, the experimental exhibition “The Next Future” will be on view at the gallery of Imanta Cultural Centre.

The exhibition continues a project launched in 2025, which invites young artists to explore the themes of ecology, sustainability and recycling through creative practice. This year, seven emerging female artists – Patrīcija Amoliņa, Māra Marija Avrameca, Evija Ābrama, Katrīna Līcīte, Elīna Semane, Maruta Sosnare and Katrīna Tračuma – have developed their ideas under the mentorship of Reinis Dzudzilo.

Through a range of artistic media – object installations, digital and analogue printing, sound and video – the exhibition presents possible scenarios for the future development of society. The artists’ works explore the relationship between people and their environment, encouraging reflection on consumer culture, the accumulation of waste, the depletion of natural resources and personal responsibility in the context of climate change. At the same time, the exhibition invites visitors to consider how human actions leave their mark not only on nature but also on communication, memories and relationships with one another.

The exhibition “The Next Future” will be on view at the gallery of Imanta Cultural Centre until 29 November, daily from 10:00 to 20:00. Admission is free.

Please note that visitors with mobility impairments should be aware that the exhibition is located on the second floor and the building does not have a lift.

The event is organised as part of Project No. 4.3.2.0/1/25/A/011, “Development of Environmental and Service Accessibility Solutions at Imanta Cultural Centre of the Pārdaugava Cultural Association to Promote an Inclusive Cultural Process”, and is co-funded by the European Union.
