The State Border Guard College is successfully implementing integrated border management training. On March 30 of this year, the final examination of the newly developed professional development program "Integrated Border Management" was successfully concluded.
During the three-week program, which included sessions in an e-learning environment, officers refined their knowledge and understanding of the European Integrated Border Management Strategy, its core components, and implementation processes. During the final exam, officers demonstrated their expertise through collaborative group work and discussions, proving their ability to critically evaluate and provide proposals for both the practical realization and the future improvement of the strategy.
In 2026, the project is scheduled to implement several inter-institutional practical training sessions and simulations to test and enhance the functionality of effective European integrated border management.
The State Border Guard College is implementing project No. VRK/RPVP/2025/3 "Strengthening the Cooperation and Training Capacity of Border Security Agencies in Latvia for the Effective Implementation of European Integrated Border Management." This project is approved under the Financial Support Instrument for Border Management and Visa Policy 2021–2027, with the Ministry of the Interior serving as the managing authority in Latvia.
