From May 11 to 14, Lieutenant Colonel Mārtiņš Spridzāns, Associate Professor of the Department of General Education Subjects at the State Border Guard College, attended the "EDTECH World Forum 2026" in London, United Kingdom. The visit was carried out within the framework of the project activity "Development of Professional Competencies of Academic Staff."
The forum focused on the application of educational technologies within the learning environment, with a particular emphasis on the context of artificial intelligence (AI). The event brought together 150 participants from various countries and featured 25 presenters from prestigious universities (Cambridge, Liverpool, London, Bentley, Durham, Roehampton), colleges (Oslo New University College, Imperial College London), and educational technology companies from the United States and Europe (Oracle Academy, Trainer Central, Open Campus, Tempo Reading, AscendNow, UAL, Techne Studio Group).
Participation in the forum proved highly beneficial, as the insights gained and contacts established will help enhance European Integrated Border Management training and research processes in Latvia.
