Amendments have been implemented for Project No. VRS/RPVP/2023/5, "Improving the Mobility of the State Border Guard," extending the project duration until June 30, 2027. This 11-month extension ensures the successful procurement of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) essential for the State Border Guard's long-term operational needs.
In addition to the timeline extension, the project’s scope has been expanded to include a vital new activity: the acquisition of six outboard engines for patrol boats.
These enhancements will directly modernize the technical assets of the State Border Guard, boosting operational capacity and reinforcing the integrity of the European Union’s external borders. The project serves as a cornerstone for the implementation of the EU Security Union Strategy, safeguarding fundamental rights and shared European values.
European Union Support: A Guarantee of Stability and Security
The project is implemented by the State Border Guard under the Border Management and Visa Policy Instrument (BMVI) 2021–2027, with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia serving as the Managing Authority in Latvia.
We extend our most profound and sincere gratitude to the European Union for its visionary and unwavering support in strengthening Latvia’s internal security. This funding is far more than an investment in equipment—it is a powerful testament to European unity and our collective responsibility for the safety of all. Thanks to this support, our border guards are equipped with cutting-edge technology to stand watch over the peace and stability of the entire European family.
In partnership with the European Commission, we are proud to build a safer tomorrow, protecting our common borders and values shoulder-to-shoulder with a strong and united Europe. Thank you for making us stronger!
