It encompasses not only political activity—participation in elections and referendums—but also social interaction—relationships with others in the family, at school, and in the community—as well as attitudes toward the environment, ecology, and other areas,” emphasizes project manager Agnese Tambaka. “The planned activities involve not only educational institutions but also local communities, fostering stronger mutual ties between schools, society, and cultural professionals. The best practices gained during the project will expand students’ knowledge of opportunities to take active action, while giving educators the confidence to pass on this knowledge through cultural events.”
About the Project
The goal of the ESF+ project “Cultural events as an instrument promoting civic participation” is to develop students’ cultural awareness and expression skills and, by using cultural events as a resource, to promote active civic participation and strengthen civil society.
The project also provides targeted support to educators and cultural event organizers, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration. Special emphasis will be placed on compiling and sharing best practices—both nationally and internationally.
Project 4.2.3.3/1/25/I/002, “Cultural events as an instrument promoting civic participation,” is co-financed by the European Union and will be implemented from July 1, 2025, through December 31, 2029.
The total eligible costs of the project are 1,758,911 EUR, of which 1,495,074 EUR comes from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), and 263,837 EUR is co-financing from the state budget.
