Nominations for “Most Energy Efficient Detached House in Latvia”:
For the 14th year, the competition “Energy Efficient Building in Latvia” is announced within the framework of the Ministry of Economics campaign “Live Warmer” with the goal to promote best practices in the field of building energy efficiency and sustainability. This includes the construction, renovation, and reconstruction of energy-efficient buildings, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and enhancing public awareness about well-being, building heat retention, indoor climate, as well as the importance and opportunities for reducing greenhouse gas emissions to create a high-quality, architecturally expressive living environment.
Applications for the competition “Energy Efficient Building in Latvia 2024” were invited to be submitted by June 18 of this year. During the summer, the competition jury will evaluate all submitted applications, decide on the buildings to advance to the second evaluation round, and conduct on-site inspections. The awarding of competition winners is planned for September of this year.
The competition regulations are prepared in cooperation with the information campaign "Live Warmer" partners – the State Construction Control Bureau, the State Fire and Rescue Service, the European Commission Representation in Latvia, AS "Sadales tīkls", Elektrum Energy Efficiency Center, Rural Support Service, Riga Energy Agency, Riga Technical University, Riga Stradiņš University, the Latvian Association of Building Managers and Administrators, the Latvian Association of Window and Door Manufacturers, the Association of Building Material Manufacturers, the Latvian Association of Mineral Wool Manufacturers, the Latvian Association of Heating, Gas and Water Technology Engineers, the Financial Sector Association, and SIA “Public Asset Manager Possessor”.
